Professionally managed by Forest City Residential Management, Inc., we offer military families housing
options and community programs that surpass the military’s standards for excellence. Our dedicated teams
of management, administrative, relocation, maintenance and grounds professionals are committed to
providing military family housing that anyone would be proud to call home.
Forest City Military Communities is proud to have been selected by the Department of the Navy to partner in
the modernization of military family housing at Navy Region Midwest and in Navy Region Hawaii.
FCMC – Great Lakes
Forest City Military Communities – Great Lakes entails the ownership, development and management of nearly
1,700 homes for the Navy Region Midwest privatization initiative. The project involves the design, demolition,
construction, rehabilitation, renovation, maintenance, operations and management of seven family housing
neighborhoods on and near Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois, and NSW Crane, located in Crane, Indiana.
Over the next three years, the project program includes the demolition of approximately 1,960 existing homes,
the divestiture of thirty homes, the construction of approximately 750 new homes, the renovation of thirty-one
historic homes and the construction of community centers and neighborhood amenities.
New homes will be spacious without being oversized, with front porches, patios, windows and doors that will
allow residents to enjoy views of the outdoors while maintaining family privacy. The new Community Centers
will offer exciting new programs, amenities, and recreational opportunities for every member of the family.
Parks and greenways will be landscaped and cultivated to capitalize on the area's natural beauty and create
true neighborhoods where a sense of community is alive and well.

FCMC - Hawaii
Forest City Military Communities took control of the homes within Phase 1 of the Navy’s privatization of family homes
in May of 2004. At that time, the neighborhoods consisted of 1,950 multi-family, duplex and single family homes,
as well as community centers, tot lots and recreation areas. Over the next four years, 910 new homes will be built and
1,040 existing homes will be renovated as part of Phase 1.
Since award, Forest City Residential Management has worked closely with the Pearl Harbor Navy Family Housing
Office to provide a one-stop customer service experience for current residents and incoming service members.
Their efforts have been a success: Forest City has, to date, achieved a 3% increase in occupancy since assumption
of operations. Forest City’s Residential Management team has documented successes in Hawaii - they have been
awarded a 4.9 on a scale of 5.0 by Navy Residents for their outstanding maintenance of the homes.
